Project 16MDLDT

Setting-Up A
Medical Tourism Business

When a well-known Australian health fund from Newcastle decided to enter the Asian medical tourism sector with cosmetic, dental and orthopaedic treatments in Thailand, we set-up their Thai infrastructure (e.g., partner hospitals, surgeons, customer service and back-office) and grew sales via digital marketing and tele-sales operations in Australia.

Project 22REPCO

Setting-Up A
Thai Representative Office

We advised a large European insurer in the strengthening of its presence in Thailand, helping the company to legally register a representative office, selecting an office location and recruiting a respected Thai insurance industry veteran with the objective of promoting their expertise in corporate and engineering lines with local brokers and fronting partners.

Project 21STCHU

Rescuing A Thai Insurer With Urgent Capital Needs

A Thai non-life insurer ran into a severe capital shortfall after having to correct material accounting errors, and so we arranged Private Equity investors, conducted a Due Diligence, and negotiated and signed a Sales Purchase Agreement that ensured the survival of the company and also allowed the Thai owner to exit without losing face.

Project 18SCANT

Claims, Product & Distribution Advice

We were assigned by a Thai non-life insurer to advise them on their motor claims process, the previously unsuccessful non-motor product development and agency online platform. In a 12 weeks project, we conducted agent interviews, held staff workshops and came up with a strategic roadmap and target operating model that would clarify the company’s future and the necessary steps and costs on the way.

Project 15FORCH

Forensic Balance Sheet & Operations Review

When a successful Asian multi-level-marketing company acquired a Swiss watch manufacturer, they were soon puzzled why this manufacturer wasn’t more profitable. We were assigned to review both historic operational and financial performance and soon identified several areas where tough management adjustments were urgently needed.

Project 18THAVN

Strategic Cross-Border Distribution Partnership

Two leaders of corporate insurance lines in Thailand and Vietnam were interested to enter a closer distribution partnership where each side would use the other as exclusive fronting partner. Preema helped the parties to agree on the key partnership rules, set-up an MOU and participated in the contract signing in Hanoi.

Project 19GAENA

Project Rescue & PDPA PMO

A large Thai life insurer had run into trouble delivering an important IT project in time and scope. Preema’s experienced project manager would unlock the project and successfully complete it. Furthermore, we also provided business analysts that helped the same insurer to define the necessary steps to ensure compliance with the upcoming PDPA rules.

Project 21BRSPA

Branch Network & People Review

We supported a mid-sized Thai insurer in reviewing its branch network as well as the skill level of its existing branch staff. Doing so, we visited multiple branches and interviewed branch staff of all levels, using our proprietary skill assessment tool.

Project 20WDPKR

Broker Portfolio & Licence Acquisition

Running a Thai insurance broker requires proper licensing and the stable support of qualified Thai individuals. We helped several Thai and foreign insurTechs to pass these local hurdles and to launch business. Besides, we successfully negotiated the merger of brokers to achieve inorganic growth and scale.

Project 20KUNKB

Wealth Management Platform Implementation

Together with our implementation partner we arranged and managed a team of qualified Thai project managers, business analysts and software developers for the launch of a global wealth management software at a large Thai commercial bank.

Project 18SYNDL

RFP For The Selection Of A New Life Insurance Core System

When a Thai life insurer decided that it was time to replace their insurance and policy management core system, we provided a foreign RFP expert that ran a vendor-agnostic software selection process using international best practices and tools.

Project 23FREYR

Start-To-End M&A Support For An Insurtech Investor In Thailand

We were thrilled when a successful Thai-foreign MGA mandated us to run a start-to-end M&A process with the objective of acquiring a Thai insurance licence. We ran multiple Due Diligence processes, negotiated non-binding and binding commercial offers and arranged the signing of a Sales Purchase Agreement and the deal closing within 6 months.

Project 20BOSPA

Portfolio Placement For Newly Acquired Insurer

When the new owners of a Thai insurer wanted to offload a material part of their business portfolio due to profitability and compliance considerations, we discretely tested the Thai market for potential buyers, came up with a short-list and entered commercial negotiations. Eventually, the portfolio was transferred to one such partner at renewal.

Project 21VOVRP

Voluntary Resignation Program & Key Person Recruitment

We designed and executed Thai labour-law-compliant staff termination programmes for several down-sizing insurers. Furthermore, we also regularly act as recruiters for very specific C-level and middle management positions in the insurance industry, leveraging our large Asian network of insurance professionals.

Project 21CACBD

Medical & Industrial Hemp Business Case

When Thailand liberalised its cannabis market and allowed the local plantation, extraction, and sale of hemp-based products for medical and industrial use, we helped a market entrant from Oregon/US in finalising its Thai business case that included CBD-based cosmetics, eatables as well as hemp textiles and hemp construction materials (hempcrete).

Project 22TOMLL

Milling Technology Business Case

An innovative start-up in the flour milling industry wanted to sell high-quality milling scales and other milling technology in Asia. We helped them in completing their market entry business case and in setting-up a Thai-foreign joint venture.
